Frequently asked questions
What is MOT Lab?
MOT Lab is a collection of practical projects created from MOT’s real work. Each project combines a complete scene with a tutorial where we explain how it was developed, from initial decisions to the final image.
What will I learn with MOT Lab?
Each project is designed around a specific visualization challenge: interiors, exteriors, lighting, materials, composition, furniture, large scales, and much more. The idea is that you choose each project based on what you want to learn and can transfer that knowledge to your own images.
What does each project include?
Each project includes the complete scene and the necessary content to study how it was made. In addition, you’ll have a tutorial where we show the process, decisions, and techniques used to reach the final result.
Am I buying a scene or a course?
Both, but the main goal is learning. The scene is the starting point for you to study and understand how a professional image is built. We don’t just give you the finished file: we show you how and why we did it.
Do I need prior experience?
It depends on each project. Each MOT Lab will indicate the recommended knowledge level and the tools used. Some will be designed to study specific techniques, while others will require more prior experience.
What programs do I need?
Each project will specify the programs used. Most of our projects are developed with 3ds Max and Corona Renderer, but we can also work with other tools depending on the project.
Can I use the scene for my own projects?
The scenes are designed for learning and personal practice. You can modify them and use them to study the process, but not for commercial projects or to redistribute their files.
Do the tutorials show the entire process?
Yes. The goal of MOT Lab is for you to understand how the image is built, not simply to show you the result. In each project we go deep into the most important decisions and techniques used during the process.
Are the projects independent?
Yes. You can choose each project based on what you want to learn. You don’t need to complete one to access the next.
Will I learn to make this type of images on my own?
That’s the goal. More than teaching you to reproduce a specific scene, we want you to understand the process and criteria you can apply later to your own projects.
Are new projects added?
Yes. MOT Lab will grow progressively with new projects and topics, so you can keep incorporating techniques and ways to approach different types of images.
